I’m the founder and director of High School Yearbook, but how did I get here? A bachelor’s degree in economics from Berkeley and a law degree from UC Hastings College of Law did nothing to prepare me for teens with cancer. After 20 years practicing criminal law, the artist in me was still knocking on the door asking for his turn.

A transition from law to photography – and years as a portrait photographer – got me closer. But, really, it was actually watching television that did it! I came across a segment on a program about a teenage girl dealing with cancer, and became curious about what her experience was. As I began to look into it I knew I wanted to get involved, and then, as I got to know these young people, it was clear I was in the right place. These kids are amazing people, and I want them and the world to know.
